Competitive
Youth Sports Leagues
Sampson County boys and girls are introduced to competitive team
sports such as baseball and football in the 3rd grade. The department’s Youth Sports Leagues

socialization through youth team sports, and to better utilized county
funded resources. The philosophy of
these sports programs focuses on the athletic development of every
participant and strays away from the recognition of individual achievement
and winning in general but does reward team efforts with recognition. Each league offers competitive
competition against teams from each of the five recreation districts within
the county’s recreation system.
