Free Immunizations During National Immunization Month - August 2018

August is National Immunization Month and the Sampson County Health Department is providing free immunizations and school physical examinations for qualified individuals receiving Medicaid and/or based on financial income.

All students entering North Carolina school must be current on all state required vaccines.

All students entering the 7th grade are required to have a Tdap AND a Meningococcal Vaccine.

  • Tdap Vaccine can protect adolescents and adults from tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis.
  • Meningococcal Vaccine can protect children ages 2-18 from meningitis.
The Sampson County Health Department provides the Tdap and Meningococcal Vaccines as well as other immunizations to prevent the spread of Communicable Disease.

Under North Carolina law, all school children must be up to date on their immunizations within 30 days of entering school.

Physical Exams:
North Carolina law now requires all students entering a North Carolina school for the first time to have a complete physical examination.

For more information or to make an immunization or school physical appointment, call the Health Department at 910-592-1131, extension 4001.
