Aging Promoted Community Enrichment Sessions

The Department of Aging is promoting an upcoming Community Enrichment Workshop, which will be provided by Cape Fear Valley Health Care System, Amedisys Inc., and the Mid-Carolina Area on Aging. The Workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, in the Sampson County Auditorium (435 County Complex Rd., Clinton, NC 28328), 8:30 am, - 12 pm. See flyer here

Consider the Conversation: Robin Kivett, MSN, RN, CHPN, is the Advance Care Planning Facilitator for Cape Fear Valley Health System. She will facilitate a viewing and conversation surrounding several chapters of the video, Consider the Conversation. This documentary explains the importance of advance care planning and how a lack of planning affects patients, families, and health care

Being Moral: Ragen McLaurin is the Hospice Liaison for Amedisys, Inc, and she will provide a viewing of Being Mortal, which is a groundbreaking PBS Special based upon the best-selling book by Atul Gawanda, MD. This film explores the relationship between physicians and dying patients. How can the medical professional better help people navigate the final chapters of their lives with confidence, direction and purpose? Following the film, Ragen will facilitate an open conversation regarding themes presented in the film.
