Child Support Services

The Child Support Services Unit is a Federal/State/Local partnership to assist families in collecting child support.  Our goals are to ensure that children have the financial support of both their parents, to foster responsible behavior towards children, to emphasize that children need to have both parents involved in their lives, and to reduce the costs of government assistance. We provide five (5) basic services:  Location of non-custodial parents, establishment of paternity, establishment of support orders, enforcement of the support orders (including modifications when appropriate), collection of the support payments through a centralized collections process and distribution of the support payments from the centralized collections unit.
